Two-time heavyweight champion Joshua Released from Medical Facility in Nigeria Following Deadly Road Accident
The British boxer Anthony Joshua has left the medical facility, local government spokespeople announced on late Wednesday. The 36-year-old was involved in a car accident in the Lagos area on Monday, a tragic incident that claimed the lives of two of his close associates.
Under Observation for Minor Injuries
The sports star had been receiving medical attention while recuperating from non-critical injuries, representatives stated earlier on Monday. A government official, Gbenga Omotoso, said in a statement online that Joshua was judged healthy enough to “recuperate at home”.
“Anthony and his mother were at the funeral home in Lagos this afternoon to say their last goodbyes to his two deceased friends as they were being readied to be sent home,” the official remarked.
A Tribute to the Fallen
The two men who died were confirmed to be Latif Ayodele, a personal trainer, and Sina Ghami, a conditioning specialist. The official further stated that the champion was filled with sorrow and overcome with emotion over the tragic loss of his two trusted companions.”
