The children's author David Walliams dropped by longtime publisher.

The author

Acclaimed children's author and TV personality David Walliams has parted ways with his publisher HarperCollins UK, according to an announcement.

A representative for the firm stated: "Upon deliberation, and following the appointment of its new CEO, HarperCollins UK has chosen to cease publishing additional books by David Walliams."

Reports indicate that the move was made after an inquiry regarding reports of questionable actions involving young women.

The firm did not confirm the motivations for this action, stating: "We do not comment on confidential company decisions."

An Illustrious Literary Career

Walliams is one of the UK's most best-selling authors for kids, having sold in excess of 60 million copies worldwide in five dozen languages.

His first children's book, *The Boy in the Dress*, was released through HarperCollins in 2008.

Several of his works, such as *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have found new life as television films.

His bibliography includes more than 40 books combined, which features a holiday title named *Santa & Son*, which came out under HarperCollins in October.

From Screen to Page

His career breakthrough occurred on the television comedy show *Little Britain* and has been honored with National Television Awards for his work as a judge on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He was awarded an OBE in 2017 in recognition of his work for the charitable sector and arts community.

This move occurs subsequent to the selection of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's freshly installed boss this past October.
