Each have been linked with the manager's job at the Scottish champions following the former manager's departure on the start of the week.

The Manager's Position on The Scottish Club

McKenna referred to Celtic as "an enormous soccer institution" but stressed he is "deeply involved" of a "long-term project" with Ipswich Town.

The 39-year-old assumed control of Portman Road in recent years and led them to the Premier League with back-to-back promotions, but they managed only four games last season as they were relegated back to the Championship and they currently sit 12th in England's second tier.

"There have been any of those conversations," the English capital native ex- Irish youth international said when asked about being on Celtic's shortlist.

"It's not something I have considered seriously, or where any portion of my concentration is currently.

"I have a special position here at a special team. And we're at a really important phase of the campaign. Everything external hasn't touched my radar."

Background and Agreement Aspects

It has been suggested that the manager would be open to speaking to the Scottish side given his childhood support.

"Growing up, we all have our preferences," he said when questioned about these. "I don't think all people has to publicly and announce what they were, but naturally it's a massive football club."

The coach agreed to a fresh four-year contract in 2024 and was asked about his reported £5m release clause.

"Throughout coaching agreements, there are things," he responded. "I don't know what mine are and, were I informed, I wouldn't tell you regardless!

"I tackle this job like I'll be Ipswich manager forever. I understand that's not always going to be the case, but I'll always give maximum effort as while I remain in position."

Bellamy's Position

Bellamy represented the Hoops on temporary transfer from Newcastle United in the mid-2000s, but the ex- Wales striker is inclined to complete the current World Cup campaign, a position that would practically eliminate the mid-forties from immediately taking the Glasgow position.

Wales are presently third in their qualifying group behind group toppers Belgium and second-placed North Macedonia.

Victories over the minnows and North Macedonia in November would book their place in the final qualifying round, but they are all but guaranteed of making those, due to a productive Nations League campaign, should they fail to end up their group runners-up.

Given his current stance, Bellamy, whose contract expires after the European Championship, would not be available until after the qualifying matches at the minimum.
