Joseph Parker tested positive during a doping test carried out the same day of his 11th-round loss against English fighter Fabio Wardley.

Wardley and Joseph Parker engaged in a pulsating encounter staged in the UK capital in late October to determine who would become mandatory WBO contender against undisputed world heavyweight champion Ukrainian champion Usyk.
Parker had positioned himself as the leading contender to face Oleksandr Usyk following putting together an impressive six-fight winning streak, yet risked his mandatory challenger status at stake in the UK and experienced a stoppage in round eleven.

A routine test given to Parker through Vada the day of the match came back positive and leaves the 36-year-old facing a challenge to demonstrate his cleanliness.
Parker's promotional company published a statement stating: "The agency notified all relevant parties regarding Joseph Parker had a positive result after a drug screening conducted on October 25th. While the matter is investigated, no additional comment are forthcoming currently."
