Barcelona Set to Play First Fixture at Upgraded Camp Nou over the weekend
Barça revealed their first game will take place at the still-under-construction Camp Nou this Saturday. Athletic Bilbao will visit the Bilbao team in domestic competition over two years after they moved out for construction to commence.
“We’ve dreamed about the return. Now, it’s here. We’re back home. Back at Spotify Camp Nou.”
Not all seats will be available though over 45,000 attendees are permitted inside under the licence granted. After final construction, the stadium’s capacity will reach almost 105,000 spectators, a rise from the old capacity. The club said recent additions comprise a new players’ tunnel and new dressing rooms.
Preparatory Events
Barça organized a fan-accessible workout at the Camp Nou on 7 November. Officials stated they were hoping for permission from Uefa for their upcoming Champions League fixture versus the German side on 9 December at the stadium. Their recent games have been held in the temporary ground.
